Hilda Louise S Longing To Be Part Of A Family Sweeps Her Up And Over The Walls Of The Orphanage Until She Floats High Above Magnificent Paris Of The Early 1900s. The Tale of Hilda Louise tells a story of a young orphan in the early 1900 s in Paris who one day gains the ability to float She begins to use her new ability to help clean high places, but one day gets pulled away by the wind and sets out on an adventure over Paris The story is whimsical, and feeds the imagination on what it would be like to fly While being set over the landscape of 1900 s Paris, the imagery is quite beautiful throughout.Oliver Dunrea s illustrations do not quite capture the The Tale of Hilda Louis
This is an odd, but endearing story about a little girl who needs a family Stuck in an orphanage, she yearns for a life in the city The narrative is short and engaging and the illustrations are colorful and whimsical We enjoyed reading this story together. A lovely and fun read aloud. Slightly interesting but odd in a perplexing kind of way Wasn t quite sure where it was going or what we were supposed to do with it when it got there.
