Hm I think what this book should be entitled isalong the lines of how to play career games on a male playing field The using what you ve got a brain bit seems to be mostly aimed at figuring out how to compete with the men Now, to be fair, this book does have some good advice though the content always feels sparse and filled in with friendly fluff , but it is really a book about climbing the ladder and how to get over the rungs that are filled up with men A
If you are just starting out in your career or you just need some advice on moving forward, this book is for you It reads like a couple of friends giving you advice and doesn t sound preachy or authoritative It gave me confidence and a better understanding of where I would like to be Read this
I just couldn t get into what this book was selling There was little in it that was substantial to someone trying to improve her place in the business world. It was just a little too fluffy with too little meat to really be of much use. A bit outdated, but still a good foundation book of career advice targeted to young women Had some good workbook type questions to think about your skills, goals and work experience Would be a good complimentary book to the overwhelmingly written by men career and business books. This book is really geared toward someone who is young and just starting out in their career Not exactly what I was looking for but it still had some good nuggets of advice. This would be helpful for someone who is looking for a promotion, a change in careers, etc I read it hoping I could get tips on how to bego getter productive and it was just okay in that area. , . So far very good book, thoughapropos for the business world, perhaps What I read of this was goodI just had too much else on my plate. Just received this book last week Started it last night, so far, not bad.
